  Imhof Desk Compendium Clock Barometer Thermometer Hygrometer c.1950s

A top quality Swiss Imhof compendium consisting of an 8 day clock, barometer, thermometer and hygrometer in very good all original condition and working order.  The cube shaped compendium is on a revolving domed base.  The case is brushed brass with mat silvered metal and is 12.5 cm high x 7.8 cm wide x 7.8 cm deep.  The dials are 5 cm x 5 cm.   The movement is a 15 jewel straight-line lever escapement C244. It weighs 929 grams

Shortland Bowen Wall or Desk Barometer & Clock Compendium

This is a most unusual Shortland Bowen compendium.  It is solid brass on a heavy mahogany base which can be either hung on a wall or set on a desk.  The wooden base is slightly angled.  It is 26.7 cm long x 14 cm high x 6.5 deep at the top and 4.2 cm deep at the base.  The dials are 7 cm in diameter.  The glass of the barometer has a most unusual feature as it turns for the indicator to be set.   It weighs 1.8 kilos.

The clock and barometer both have fine concave glass and a high quality thermometer. It is in good condition and working order.  The compendium is 18 cm long x 3.8 cm high (closed) x 8.7 cm deep.  When open it is approximately 11 cm high with the base made into a receptacle for pens etc.  The dials are 5.2 cm in diameter.  The barometer is signed "Barigo, Made in Germany". An unusual desk barometer in good all original condition and working order.  The gun metal case is 9.2 cm high x 5 cm deep, it has a dent on the back as can be seen in the pictures.  The dial with the open skeleton view of the movement is 8.3 cm in diameter with a bevelled glass is signed 'Maison Braga, Charles Hulpiau Succr., Gand'. There are a couple of small scratches on the crystal and a blemish at 3 o'clock, these do not detract from the overall look and scarcity of this barometer.

A wonderful 8 day clock with barometer compendium in good condition and working order.  The bakelite base with chromed feet is 14.5 cm x 6 cm deep, the compendium is 10 cm high. It has an unusual winding mechanism which has the time setting button in the centre of the winder.  There is a bit of fading in the blue design as can be seen in the pictures which does not detract from the wonderful look of this compendium.
