A. De Brianski

The son and nephew of prolific landscape and seascape painters Alfred (fl.1869-1893) and Gustave (fl.1877-1892), Alfred de Breanski, Jr. achieved substantial acclaim in his own right during a notable career that spanned over 60 years. Taught by both men, his techniques and trained eye for overall composition emulates, and in some cases, surpasses his family members. Highly believable in his presentations, de Breanski sought and found subjects amongst the gardens and oceans of Scotland, Wales and England.

The Cairngorms -
In Gaelic, the words mean 'The Blue Hills'.
An unprepossessing name for a land of myriad changes, where no two days are the same and the landscape changes by the second. From the high mountains of the Cairngorm plateau, the land sweeps down through ancient Caledonian Pine Forest to the River Spey below.

From the small beginnings of the upper reaches of the River Spey above Laggan, to the mighty salmon river that the stream has become as it winds down to Grantown-on-Spey on its swift journey to the sea, the area known as 'Badenoch and Strathspey', overlooked by Cairngorm itself - at 4084 feet one of the highest mountains in Britain

Original Fashion Print dated 1868/9
